Trattoria Vecchio Borgo

I think it was the most pleasant discovery of the last few months. We stopped here because it was on the way home and it looked nice. Well it was a delicious dinner, starting from the bread and croutons which I'm not joking if I say that I think they are the best I've ever eaten. We had an appetizer of aubergine millefeuille with potato rosti and pesto, delicious. Finally, two first courses, the Bigoli with sardines, very good and surprisingly delicate, I don't like sardines but I tasted them and I must say that I could have eaten them (I generally can't even tolerate the smell of sardines) so amazing. Instead I ordered the Bigoli cacio e pepe with cherry tomatoes, one of the best things I've ever eaten and I'm not joking. The cooking of the Bigoli was excellent, my favourite. Furthermore, with the coffee they offered us a sbrisolona biscuit (I don't like sbrisolona, and neither does my boyfriend) we fought over the biscuit, I think it's the best dry pastry biscuit I've ever eaten. I know this review might seem too positive, but it really was an excellent dinner. Abundant dishes and an unbeatable quality/price ratio, especially in this period. If I have to make a note, the cacio e pepe was very spicy, but then again it's a cacio e pepe 😅, so be careful if you take it. Excellent service and exquisite staff, and this too is difficult to find lately. I can't wait to come back to try the second courses 🥰

What can you say about this pizza? Doesn't the photo speak for itself? This is not a pizza, it's a masterpiece. The best vegetarian I've ever eaten anywhere in Italy, overflowing with tasty vegetables. The main feature that separates this place from others is the fact that they DO NOT SKIMP ON INGREDIENTS. forget the very sad pizzas with two slices of courgettes; This place covers its pizzas with delicious ingredients in generous quantities. Keep it up!!!
